Child Sponsorship Opportunities

Meet Emmanuel

Emmanuel has had to live a much harder life than any 13 year old boy ever should. When his father died several years ago, Emmanuel had to take care of his blind mother and his older brother, Mark. This meant begging for food. When his mother died of malaria, Emmanuel and his brother, now orphans, were forced to move in with their abusive uncle. Thankfully Emmanuel's story has a happy ending. Because of Horizon Initiative and sponsors like you, Emmanuel and his brother Mark are now living a much happier life. Both of the boys are enrolled in school and are in the top of their class. They both live in Baba Nyumbani Children¹s Home and receive food, clean water and clothes and no longer have to beg for their next meal. Someday Emmanuel would like to become a pilot, and with the education he is now receiving, this dream can become a reality for Emmanuel.

What is Sponsorship?

Sponsorship is a symbiotic relationship where you can personally support a child from an under-developed country. Your sponsorship support will help provide clothing, housing, clean water and food, education, medical and dental care to a child in need. For your investment, you will receive information about your sponsored child and a current photograph. You will also receive regular reports of the activities at Baba Nyumbani Children's Home, where your sponsored child receives the benefits of your sponsorship.

There are 3 Types of Sponsorship:

  • BABA NYUMBANI EDUCATION SPONSORSHIP: Each sponsorship costs $35US/mo and goes toward the costs of the child's education; school uniforms, books, supplies, etc.
  • BABA NYUMBANI BASIC CARE SPONSORSHIP: Each sponsorship costs $35US/mo and goes toward orphanage/ children's home costs such as food, shelter, clothing and other basic needs.
  • HOME BASED CARE (HBC) SPONSORSHIP: Each sponsorship costs $35 US/mo and provides a child, who is living with their family, the opportunity to attend school with uniforms, books and supplies and receive basic nutrition.
